“It happened several times already and couple of times was so dangerous, I had 4 kids in my car. When I drive from Salem, OR to Portland, OR, in the middle of a highway, my car suddenly doesn't drive. On the dashboard signs are traction controll and stability track or something. Please help me. When it happens, car doesn't drive and stops on freeway. It's so dangerous.”
NHTSA complaint #11550086, filed 2023-10, 134,426 miles“While driving the car on the freeway with my kids driving normal when the stabilitrak happened, and the car went from 60 miles per hour to 20 mile per hour on the freeway almost causing a bad accident. We got very scared. I been looking up online on this issue and it seems this is a issue with the GM cars.”
NHTSA complaint #11360387, filed 2020-09, 70,000 miles“Was told we had a front cover leak. Found out the sealant used to seal the front cover to the engine block breaks down prematurely and causes an oil leak. Without removing the engine and redoing the seal, the engine could fail. It seems to be a very common and known issue caused by a poor design. We are now paying $2,700.00 to have our engine cover re-caulked to avoid an engine failure.”
NHTSA complaint #11243383, filed 2019-08, 97,000 miles“While driving, my check engine light came on. Also traction light came on, loss of power came on, and stability traction turned off. My speed reduced from 40 to 25. I shut the car off and now only the check engine light is on.”
NHTSA complaint #11307702, filed 2020-02, 111,000 miles“I was driving my car it was making noises, I too it to autozone to get a free diagnostic check. It was reading that my timing was off. I went back home parked the car 2 days later called the dealership in which it was purchased to have them pick it up and run a diagnostic on it, I still have time under warranty. I was told timing chain is off, by the dealership they are failing to get it covered under warranty stating that I have no been maintaining the vehicle. …”
