“2013 chevy Traverse w/ 126k miles: while driving 65mph on the freeway the entire car shut off. Everything went black, and I couldn't depress brakes, or turn the steering wheel to move to the shoulder. Within 20 sec the car started back up and went into limp mode and I was able to make it to a gas station. Check engine light, traction control off, park assist off, engine power reduced and service stabilitrak all came on. When I disconnected the battery, or pulled fuses to reset ECM, the car would start just fine. …”
NHTSA complaint #11187401, filed 2019-03, 126,000 miles“I was driving and my stabili trak light comes on I'm in the left lane going 60 MPH my speed drops to 15 MPH I cut my flashers on quickly. Luckily the car behind me saw something was happening and moved over and the other cars could see my car was in distress. I cut the car off turned it back on after about 15minutes and it was fine. Drive for about 30 minutes and it happened again did everything as before drove to dealer they couldn't find anything wrong with the car so I paid for a service diagnostic for nothing. They drove the car said it was fine. …”
NHTSA complaint #11408395, filed 2021-04, 107,639 miles“The car is a 2013 chevy Traverse ls with 98,804 miles on it. When driving at highway speed the vehicle service engine light started flashing and a warning on the dash came up of service traction control, traction control system off, reduced engine power . The vehicle reduced speed from 60 MPH to 25 MPH. The vehicle started shaking and sounded like it was misfiring. When I brought the vehicle to a parking lot it would lurch forward when I let off the brake pedal. There were no warning signs of any mechanical issues or transmission issues prior to this. …”
NHTSA complaint #11355582, filed 2020-09, 98,504 miles“2013 chevy Traverse w/ 120k miles: while driving 75mph on the freeway the entire car shut off. Everything went black, and I couldn't depress brakes, or turn the steering wheel to move to the shoulder. I panicked as I was in the middle of the desert with my 5 year old. Unacceptable! Within minutes the car came back and went into limp mode and I was able to make it to a gas station. Check engine light, traction control service, park assist off, and stability control service all came on. Pulled codes and they were all transmission control module codes. …”
NHTSA complaint #11175114, filed 2019-02, 120,000 miles“I purchased this vehicle, 2013 chevy Traverse ls on 5/6/2030, a couple weeks after purchasing the vehicle I noticed the transmission slipping, I brought it back three times to sun used cars, all within my warranty period and they could not duplicate the issue, so now they will no longer fix the vehicle, and I am still having issues with it slipping. I think it may be electrical because when it won't shift and you turn it off and back on again it will shift gears. There is also 4 air bag sensors that are showing up as an issue that started after the relay switch for the locks were fixed.”
