“Over two dozen areas on the powder coated sub frame and suspension components have rusty weld beads with flaking paint. I took the vehicle in for inspection and filed a claim with Chevrolet. Chevrolet said the rust is operating as designed and no repair would be completed. The areas are increasing to rust and I believe this may lead to a catastrophic failure of the frame and steering components.”
NHTSA complaint #11160605, filed 2018-12, 4,752 miles“This is not to report an incident but more of a concern with the roof structure of my 2018 Chevrolet Traverse premium. On multiple occasions while washing the roof of my SUV I noticed the sheet metal flexing across the center midline of the roof from the liftgate all the way to the windshield. Luckily, I do not have a sunroof on my vehicle. The amount of pressure I exert while scrubbing the roof of the car is less that 20 lbs per square inch. I tried capturing this on camera but the images keep coming up blurry.”
NHTSA complaint #11321484, filed 2020-04, 21,000 miles“Main sunroof (the one that tilts and opens) shattered. It was closed at the time, all windows were closed, driving straight down a good, smooth highway at 74 MPH, in good weather, on may 16, 2018”
NHTSA complaint #11102918, filed 2018-06, 13,000 miles“Main sunroof (the one that tilts and opens) shattered. It was closed at the time, all windows were closed, driving straight down a good, smooth highway at 74 MPH, in good weather”
NHTSA complaint #11119810, filed 2018-08, 7,000 miles“I work full time in an auto body repair shop and a fire chief. I am coming across more and more white GM vehicles where the paint is not stuck where the windshield is glued in. A couple real hard pushes and the windshield will about come completely out.”
