“The power lift gate failed almost smashing my child. (picking child up from school placing bag in back) recall is out there but my VIN# is not in the recall. They know this is a problem but refuse to fix it for me because my VIN# isnt on recall.”

NHTSA complaint #10846118, filed 2016-03, 105,000 miles

“The first problem is that the second row, middle seat belt gets stuck after putting the row down flat. You have to put the row up and down a few times for it to start working. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. I read about recalls on the model of my vehicle and this issue is listed as one of the recalls. Chevrolet and GM insist that my VIN# is not listed under the recalls, so it has to be diagnosed and dealt with as a normal problem. This is listed as a safety hazard with the recall because it may not restrain as it should, god forbid, during an accident. …”

“The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that the recall remedy failed. The contact stated that she opened the liftgate to put something in the vehicle and the liftgate fell down and struck her in the head. The liftgate continued to force down on the contact, trapping her and continuously pushing on her back. An eyewitness observed the failure and helped to pull the liftgate off of the contact. The contact did not seek medical attention, but sustained bruising on the back and soreness from her head and neck. …”
