“I had driven my car home from work, I was on the street I live on and waiting for an ambulance to clear the entrance to my drive way so I could park. I put my car in park at the direction of the emergency response team, once the emergency vehicle had cleared the entrance I was unable to shift my car back in to drive, or reverse. It was stuck in the park position. …”

NHTSA complaint #10610578, filed 2014-07, 103,000 miles

“I have a 2007 Chrysler 300 and it is right under 60,000 miles. It is stuck in park and wont release even with the pink switch . I did some research on line with this problem.. Apparently it is a common thing. I took it in to repair this and I have maximum lifetime care and it won't even cover replaceing this. There should be a recall on this.”

NHTSA complaint #10394151, filed 2011-04, 59,900 miles

“I applied the brake to shift car out of park and it would not shift. I had to have my car towed and the dealership said that the clutch assembly needed replacement. After researching the internet, there are several types of these complaints. There is a recall out, but my model year and VIN do not meet the recall criteria.”

NHTSA complaint #10476492, filed 2012-09, 93,000 miles

“On 8/28/13, I got in the vehicle and started it went to move it out of park and the gear-shift would not move. I also looked in the manual it has an override which didn't work. I called a mechanic and he informed me that he had to replace the exact same piece on his vehicle about 3 months prior.”
