“The leather wrap on my instrument panel has started to delaminate on both the passenger side and drivers side, despite being garaged from new so it has not sat out in the sun. As far as I can judge, on the passenger side, the delamination extends down to the upper part of the pab. I am concerned that this may affect the pab deployment should an accident occur. If I somehow manage to re-glue the leather covering, will that affect pab deployment.”
NHTSA complaint #11102135, filed 2018-06, 47,000 miles“I was driving on keerans street on fort bragg, nc at aprox 30mph when I was hit by a 2012 chevy express 3500 due to his failure to yield at approx 25mph. None of my airbags deployed and the whiplash caused neck injury and back injury. Chrysler informed me that it requires a minimum speed of 20mph to set off the side impact airbags.”
NHTSA complaint #10557935, filed 2013-12, 10,500 miles“I took it in for air bag recall when I got it back it now makes a clicking noise under the dash. While I drive or idle it starts to click for about one minute and stops.”
NHTSA complaint #11306472, filed 2020-02, 125,000 miles“1:driving home when I looked up and saw sparks coming from under my car, lost steering and slowed down to guard rail before an exit ramp on highway. My wheel and control arm came off the vehicle which happened at 5200 miles. 2:as I was driving on the highway my vehicle shut down causing me to lose power and get stranded on the highway not able to move which caused me to get rear ended at 65 MPH. This was at 18k miles. Recall came out after accident.”
NHTSA complaint #10788621, filed 2015-11, 18,000 miles“I was in an accident with my son as the passenger. We were traveling at 55mph when a vehicle pulled out in front of me. I never hit brake as there was no time...we drove through the front of his car. Impact was so hard his radiator was shifted to the left side of his car. My son bore the brunt of the impact as the hit was on the passenger side. None of the air bags went off nor did his seat belt tighten. He hit his shoulder on the side window and cracked it. I know in 2012 and 2014 Chrysler had issues with air bag inflators and seat belt tension devices on the 300 model.”
