Example complaints
Brakes: “This is the fourth time this has happened to this car. It is a 1991 chyrsler new yorker. The rear brakes have one flat pin that comes out of the wheel cylinder. This small flat pin pushes on a thin flat part of the rear brake shoe. Because the pin in flat and does not have the fork design like the older models, the pin slips off the brake shoe and over extends. This causes loss of the brake fluid and the loss of the rear brakes. I also now have pictures of what actually occurs.”
NHTSA complaint #10136198, filed 2005-09, 125,555 milesFuel system: “1991 Chrysler new yorker Fifth Avenue v6 3.3l. I incurred 2 fuel leaks from the fuel intake fuel rail. Each occurred at both 'u' joints. The fuel is leaking directly into the engine. My research online indicates that a great number of chryslers have similar problems. Obviously simultaneous fuel leaks into an engine is extremely dangerous. Please have these recalled. Thank you.”
NHTSA complaint #10098410, filed 2004-11, 75,600 milesMileage when problems were reported
0% of the 9 complaints with a mileage were filed for vehicles with under 50,000 miles; the middle half falls between 75,600 and 120,000 miles.
