Example complaints

Brakes: “On 9/25/2008 I brought my car to the Chrysler place in warner robins, ga because the ABS brakes went out. I was informed there was a recall on those brakes. I was charged $498.66 for what was under warranty. On 10/23/2009 I brought my car back because the brakes went out again. The service person stated that I needed some other things replaced but they would work within the warranty. On 11/06/2008 I brought the car back because the brakes went out again. I brought the car back may 25, 2009 because the brakes went out again. …”

NHTSA complaint #10269881, filed 2009-05, 142,431 miles

Engine cooling: “On this vehicle and another I owned with the 3.3 l engine, there is a recurring problem with the serpentine belt . When it is necessary to drive through snow drifts of maybe 10 to 12 or when high winds drive snow and/or sleet into the engine bay, this is enough to cause the belt to slip off the pulleys. This causes total loss of charging function, cooling function, power steering. Naturally there is no heat to keep the windshield clear of fogging, the headlights go quite dim. I have been able to count on replacing this belt at least once each winter season, and somtimes twice. …”

NHTSA complaint #701818, filed 1999-01

Fuel system: “Fuel rail started leaking for no apparent reason pouring gas on intake, valve covers and exhaust manifolds. This is a fire hazard that could cause damage and/or injury to vehicle and it's occupants.”

NHTSA complaint #10098722, filed 2004-11, 90,000 miles

Transmission and drivetrain: “I was behind a panel van at a traffic light and started to move forward at about 2mph. I heard a loud snapping sound and rattling noise. Applied the brakes, put the car into park and released the brakes but the car started to move backwards. I set the parking brake and got out to see what was wrong. Under the driver's side was a large puddle of transmission fluid and the transmission was leaking badly. I towed the car back to my driveway and checked the transmission case. I found a crack in the differential area. …”
