Example complaints

Body and structure: “Driver door hinge attachment plate on drivers side bottom sunk into door and in turn the door bent over so when opening the door, it pushes the rear of the front fender in and damaged the driver door side. It is now happening on the passenger side and soon will be unable to open either door to get in. Cannot open drivers side as door slips down and very hard to pick up door as it is heavy. Defect!”

NHTSA complaint #10047500, filed 2003-11, 105,800 miles

Air bags: “The contact owns a 1995 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible. While the contact was driving approximately 40 MPH the front driver and passenger side air bags involuntarily deployed. There were minor injuries. The vehicle was able to continue operation with caution. The dealer was notified which there was no resolution. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileages were 75,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10325158, filed 2010-04, 75,000 miles

Electrical system: “The contact owns a 1995 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible. When the driver attempted to use the emergency brake, he noticed smoke surrounding the dashboard area. He removed the instrument panel and checked the wires. The contact found exposed wires and a gap between the wires. The vehicle will be taken to the dealer for inspection. The current and failure mileages were 162,000.”

NHTSA complaint #10280418, filed 2009-08, 162,000 miles

Exterior lighting: “I've owned this car for 5 months and it has been nother but problems for me. I understand that when buying a used vehicle there is always risk involved, but at 50,000 miles (which is what I bought it at) there should not be that many expensive problems in 5 months! Chrysler is refusing to accept any of the responsibility for this vehicle that they manufactured, and that is wrong. I hope by filing this complaint, something gets done!”
