“Air bag light is always on. I was told it was sensors. Had it repaired but always comes back on and the minute I start the car it stays on until I shut off car. Have other complaint in but forgot to add this. Do not know what type of airbags they are. How do I find out if takata?”

NHTSA complaint #11152975, filed 2018-11, 28,000 miles

“Airbag lit stays light al the time, was told it was a bad sensor, there was never a recall for it. You would think there would be since its a safety feature 'air bag light'. The check engine light stays lit too, that has been on since my car had a tuneup done was also told that was a bad sensor . The dealer should recall these features I've heard there was alot of the same problem other people were having too.”

NHTSA complaint #10245455, filed 2008-10, 48,000 miles

“Chrysler minivan clockspring defect airbag light stays on possibly loosing electrical connection. In fact, on 12/28/03 I was involved in a rear impact car accident and airbag did not deploy, despite the fact that my rear door and bumper had to be replaced at my local Chrysler dealership. I was informed that I was responsible to repair the clockspring. Thankfully, the impact was in the rear where no one was sitting. Had the impact been to the sides, where my grandchildren were sitting, or to the front, I shudder to think of the consequences.”

NHTSA complaint #10052656, filed 2004-01, 35,000 miles

“I have a Chrysler Voyager it was hit in the front, the reson iam reporteing to you is that my airbags did not pop out of the steringwheel when the vehicle was so badle hit and a15 year old boy was hurt,I called the repair shop and the gentlemen said the van was fixed, and I told him that the air bags did not open proper and he told me that there was 3 modules he also said that if all 3 modules where not hit the airbags would not open, now explan too me please with this much frontend damege, bumper, front 136.00,cover bumper, front…”

NHTSA complaint #10003213, filed 2003-01, 23,363 miles

“The clock spring (part of the air bag system), has failed twice in 46,000 miles. The vehicle has never been in any type of accident, or sustained any type of damage (ie, water related damage). The first failure was repaired under warranty, the second repair the dealer charged for. As this is a safety function, and the occupants are exposed to risk during failure, I believe two failures in 46,000 miles is unacceptable and is a design or manufacturing defect. I request that the NHTSA initiate an investigation, and if this defect is prevalent, issue a recall notice.”
