“After being stopped in traffic for a few minutes I released the brake to accelerate, the car began to sputter and stalled immediately afterwards. I then put the car in park, turned it off and it restarted with no problems. It has done this once a week for the last three weeks. The check engine light has not come on at any point. I ran a diagnostic with the obd2 and it produces no codes.”

NHTSA complaint #10667009, filed 2014-12, 74,105 miles

“While driving to work today I lost all power and noticed a red lighting bolt on the dash. I would try to accelerate but could not going more then 1600 RPM's. I pulled over and killed the engine. When I started it I was able to drive for about 1 minute and it happened again. I was able to get home and later found out the lighting bolt was the electronic control throttle body. I called the dealer and they want $550 to install it or $330 for a new part. …”

NHTSA complaint #10651538, filed 2014-10, 64,200 miles

“I was driving to a parking lot around a turnabout and as I approached the entrance for the parking lot, the steering became extremely difficult, almost causing the car to miss the entrance and for me to veer of the road. I looked at the tachometer and noticed that the engine had completely turned off. This was about the third occurrence. The previous two times the car had stalled at an intersection's red light and didn't notice until the light turned green. When I depressed the gas pedal, the car wouldn't move. Again, I would look at the tachometer, and the engine stalled. …”

NHTSA complaint #10638035, filed 2014-09, 26,000 miles

“While driving on the freeway, an object hit under the vehicle and punctured a hole in the plastic, unprotected fuel tank causing a leak. Fortunately it only caused a leak and did not result in a fire. I was surprised to find out that the fuel tank was plastic and did not have any protection from road hazards to prevent punctures, especially when it is so close to the ground.”

NHTSA complaint #10564665, filed 2014-02, 58,250 miles

“Car has died while driving in traffic 5 times between 01/22/19 and 03/06/19. Presented many different issues, including stall, no start, no crank, poor idle. Towed in 5 times to 3 different dealerships and dead again. Over $2000 in out of pocket costs so far and the danger to life sitting in a dead car in the middle of snowstorms in rush hour traffic. Also several times in between would not even start in the driveway. And many other what I refer to as electrical gremlins ! …”
