“Car will rev and accelerate on its own even with brake pedal being pressed due to malfunctions in the electronic stability control I've even replaced the throttle body after reading forums about this similar problem and car continues to sporadically accelerate on its own at times while I'm driving or parked.”
NHTSA complaint #10946746, filed 2017-01, 70,000 miles“I was driving approximately 40 and then the car had no power. When I gave it gas it would not go. It dropped to about 10 MPH. The red flashing etc and engine light came on. Very scary. I could not move out of anyone way if I had to.”
NHTSA complaint #11406161, filed 2021-04, 51,900 miles“I was driving down a back road coming up to a severe curve the car started accelerating on its own. The gas pedal was not pushed al the way down but the engine continued to speed up. As I came up to the curve I could not maintain the car on the road and it flipped four times and landed in a swamp area in about 2 feet or three feet of water.”
NHTSA complaint #10578911, filed 2014-04, 11,000 miles“The red lightening bolt appears and the car loses nearly all engine power....I read on the internet to:1} turn on ignition(not engine)...2}press accelerator pedal slowly to the floor, then allow the pedal to return(slowly)..3} turn ignition off----4{start the car... I had to pull over and stop the car and go thru the instructions.....it always starts and runs for a half a day or so, before it happens again!(I guess I have to keep resetting the throttle sensor)!....this happens at 10 MPH and or 60 MPH”
