NHTSA complaint #10239731, filed 2008-08, 220,000 miles

“The clock spring assembly that is housed in the steering column has failed due to a known design flaw. The assembly controls the deployment of the driver side airbag, the cruise control and the horn. As a result of this failure, I have an airbag notification light that stays on and both the cruise control and horn do not function. This specific item is the subject of a recent recall, however, my VIN# does not appear on the list of vehicles the manufacturer has determined prone to failure. As a result, I am liable for identical repairs without the benefit of redress.”

NHTSA complaint #10070379, filed 2004-01, 47,500 miles

“The windshield wipers fell off the car. The thermostat failed. The windshield wipers fell apart. The steering belt fell off. The speed sensor went. The steering belt and alternater belt and pulley system fell off doing 70mph. The back breaks had rust build up. This all happened in the first three months I've owned the car.”

“Vehicle was in a t-bone accident and the rear wheel fell off upon impact. On inspection of the vehicle, the dealership noticed that the rear casting that holds the wheel assembly had cracked over time, which cause the rear wheel to come off. Please provide more details. Ts”

NHTSA complaint #10001295, filed 2002-12, 49,888 miles

“This started about a week ago and is intermittent. The speedometer sticks on a number usually between 0 and 10 MPH, but the vehicle is going much faster than indicated. It bobbles up and down and then seems to function okay. It's going to the dealer this week.”
