2012 Dodge Dart Steering Problems

“I parked the car on the side of the street. An hour later, after starting the car and placing the gear in drive, I could not switch gears to reverse or park, and could not shut the car off and remove the key. The gear shift was stuck in drive, and would not disengage even when the battery was disconnected. The car had to be towed. Mobile technician found that the gear shift cable was broken.”

“I was driving down the highway when it was raining then it stopped then it started up again and went to turn on my wipers and they wouldnt turn on, so I called a buddy of mine thats a mechanic and he told me its probly the steering column ribbon broke and sure enough I took it to Dodge and thats what it was. This should be recalled for a defect and should be replaced at no charge this is a almost $500.00 part to replace it.”

“In the last 2 weeks, my power steering has stopped working 5 times. At first I could pull over turn the car off and it comes back on. The last time was 2 days ago and now power steering will not come back on at all. There are currently no warning lights on indicating the problem and I could not pull any error codes with my scanner. Every time it has happened, I was on the interstate going around 65-75 MPH.”

“While braking, this winter, my ABS would activate causing my dashboard and radio to go blank. It was only until recently that I learned that while the screens are blank and rebooting my cars power steering system is also inactive. After 4 attempts at fixing this issue all the dealership is telling me it that it is a grounding issue.”
