“Windshield wipers will not turn off. I started my car. I turned on the blinker to turn left and the wipers came on. The wipers on low. Took the car to the dealership the bcm and module needs to be replaced. $1000 charge.”

NHTSA complaint #11064654, filed 2018-01, 89,000 miles

“As I was driving down the highway the windshield wipers suddenly came on and now will not shut off, change speed, or release wiper fluid. Any time the key is on, the wipers are running. The wipers are now a distraction, as they are constantly in motion. I can also not turn them on a higher setting when it is raining heavily.”

NHTSA complaint #11079156, filed 2018-03, 65,000 miles

“I was driving down the highway when it was raining then it stopped then it started up again and went to turn on my wipers and they wouldnt turn on, so I called a buddy of mine thats a mechanic and he told me its probly the steering column ribbon broke and sure enough I took it to Dodge and thats what it was. This should be recalled for a defect and should be replaced at no charge this is a almost $500.00 part to replace it.”

NHTSA complaint #11265333, filed 2019-10, 80,000 miles

“Driving approximately 25mph when the wipers turned on without me turning them on, full speed, and refused to turn off. Took it to the dealer where they told me it was the control switch which can only be purchased at a dealer, very expensive part.”

NHTSA complaint #11190581, filed 2019-03, 80,000 miles

“The stick device that controls the wipers & window solution, just went out on my car. The whole part needs to be replaced. It's going to cost between 600-700 to fix. My car only 3 years old & has 35,000 miles on it, but is out of warranty. When I spoke with the mechanic about the repair he stated that chrysler/Dodge has modified this part at least a dozen times because of failures. However, no recall has been issued. I think Dodge should cover the repair costs.”
