“I bought this car on 3/2002. Since I bought it I have replaced the starter three times; had a full front end replacement; new engine put in; new transmission; studs broke from the front tire and while the tire was rolling down the road my card was skidding down the road with my 2 month old granddaughter in the car. Now the electronic system is completely screwed up and the car is not even running. I have all my paperwork where the repairs were done. I believe that chrysler needs to replace this vehicle no questions asked because we have spent over $6,000 fixing this piece of junk.”

Consumer had vehicle towed the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that wheel needed to be replaced due to corrosion.”
NHTSA complaint #10061275, filed 2004-03“1998 Dodge Intrepid's right front tire separated from vehicle. When the tire sheared off it scratched the rear door and dented and scratched the front bumper. The day prior to this incident the consumer had brake repairs done.”
NHTSA complaint #10166896, filed 2006-08“Wheels are rusting on outside. Surface rust. Dodge states this is normal wear and tear. Steering wheel is peeling away. Dodge says this is normal wear and tear. Starter is too close to the muffler without heat shield. Power windows shorted out internally, causing fuse breaker to be to hot to touch. . Driver side mirror just cracked. Dealer said it may be a flaw. They have had to replace several for this reason. The glass is not available you must be complete assembly. The car is one year and five months old and is coming apart. Dealer will not fix because it is out of warranty. …”
