The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000. NHTSA complaint #10851057, filed 2016-03, 160,000 miles“Son drove my car and lost control as it sprung out of control and he hit a tree. No airbags deployed during that impact. My insurance company totaled my car out but really didn’t give a reason as to why they didn’t deploy with such a hard hit. Police impounded my car and insurance company inspected my car for a settlement. I asked them why and I said I had to take it up with the manufacturer. He walked away with miner cuts. That could have resulted in his death.”
NHTSA complaint #11717819, filed 2026-02“Front passenger and driver airbag recall, stop driving recall. Called the FCA manufacturer to find my recall options, they claim the dealer I requested won’t tow to dealership?? Sounds absurd with the stop driving recall.”
NHTSA complaint #11675735, filed 2025-07“Takata recall. I received a recall notice in july 2015 and another notice to make an appointment about 60 days later. I made an appointment with the dealer for oct 3,2015 and they called me the day before and said they didn't have the parts to make the repair. As of this date, dec 11,2015 I have heard nothing from the dealer about repairing my car. Recall notice r25/NHTSA 15v-313. This is a complaint about incompetent/untimely repairs on a recall.”
NHTSA complaint #10809686, filed 2015-12“The contact owned a 2007 Dodge Magnum. While making a u-turn, another vehicle crashed into the passenger side of the contacts vehicle at 5 MPH. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed. A police report was filed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000.”
