1991: “Metal strap securing fuel tank to vehicle rusted and broke; defect discovered before any crash/personal injury; contacted manufacturer's dealer for replacement part and was advised none available now nor likely to be available in future; had to arrange for custom manufacture of replacement part. I still have part of the rusted strap. This part should have been made of a more durable material considering the function it serves; rusting issue compounded by the fact that a loose-fitting cover goes over the strap and same appears to trap water, promoting the rusting action.”
NHTSA complaint #10214800, filed 2008-01, 122,000 miles1992: “I had to replace both front rotors because they rusted to the point of compressing. I understand 1989 to 1991 were recalled for this same problem. What I don't understand is why my 92 wasn't recalled if it has the same problem. My braking was so poor that I went ahead and spent almost $300.00 and replaced rotors after I complained to chrysler and they said they whould not pay for it. I have old rotors if someone is interested in looking at them. Thankyou ken”
NHTSA complaint #735408, filed 2000-101990: “Consumer had been having problem with heater core just like mentioned in recall 94 v 006 000. Had contacted manufacturer. Manufacturer stated that vehicle was not under recall due to the VIN.”
