“My truck stalls as I come to a stop. This happens probably about 4 times a month since the date above. The dealership hasn't been able to find the problem. I have read on forums online that a ton of other people are having the same problem. Some say it has to do with erg valve and it should be recalled. They said they replace the EGR valve and the problem is fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #10427881, filed 2011-09, 40,000 miles

“I have a 2004 Dodge 1500. On 18 feb 10 for no apparent reason truck started to overheat. I have not taken it to a dealer yet but I understand this is a problem that is starting to develop with this vehicle and currently Dodge does not know what the issue is. Several items have been replaced on these vehicles but so far nothing has helped.”

NHTSA complaint #10311923, filed 2010-02, 107,000 miles

“Recently my RAM 1500 has begun to stall for no reason. No check engine light will come on and no sputtering. Just stalls when I slow down for a light or making a turn. It will usually starts right up and act like nothing happened. Other times it will take about a minute to start. Thankfully I have not been rear ended, yet.”

NHTSA complaint #10370197, filed 2010-12, 92,000 miles

“Dodge RAM 1500 truck just shuts off when braking or turning. You have to put it in neutral and restart it. This is going to cause a serious accident or injury to someone and Dodge has not recalled the vehicle. We have seen numerous complaints on the internet about this same problem. We have called our Dodge dealer and n one seems to know what to do. It has happened more than once in the past month.”

NHTSA complaint #10384270, filed 2011-02, 56,000 miles

“I have an 2004 Dodge ram with a 5.7l hemi engine. My truck is now around 50k miles. I have had engine stalling since day-one of owning the vehicle. I have taken it to two Dodge dealers multiple times and it has yet to be fixed. The engine stalls mostly when coming to a stop. Sometimes is just stalls after sitting at a light with my foot on the brake.”
