“My 05 RAM 1500 has now stalled out twice in the 2 months I have had it. The first time I was stuck in rush hour traffic so I was at a stand still but now this time I was turning into a school and the truck stalled and steering wheel locked...I almost hit 2 teachers because of this...the lights and radio was still on though..this is a major problem that needs attention before someone gets seriously hurt..”

NHTSA complaint #10458003, filed 2012-05, 74,000 miles

“I have a 2005 Dodge RAM 1500 with a 4.7 liter v-8. The problem like many others have had is that the truck will rev up and down at idle and slow speed. After the truck stalled, almost getting me in a sever crash at an intersection while towing my boat, I took it to the dealer. They said the EGR valve was bad and replaced it. This worked for about a year now the problem is back.”

NHTSA complaint #10320939, filed 2010-03, 69,000 miles

“I have a 05 Dodge RAM 1500 that stalls when slowing down to stop or take corners. When it stalls you loss power steering which has cuased me to almost be in mulitple accidents going around corners. This is a major issue and muliple people and model years have had the same issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10421676, filed 2011-08, 87,000 miles

“When I slow down, and specifically turn the wheel in either direction, my Dodge will randomly stall. The radio will stay on and the only way I know the truck has stalled is because I am not going anywhere. Once I put it in neutral it starts right up and takes off. This is extremely dangerous and has almost caused accidents. Took it to my local Dodge dealership and they have no clue what it could be as they were unable to duplicate the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10426302, filed 2011-09, 84,000 miles

“My Dodge RAM 1500 truck with a 4.7 engine has stalled a couple of time right after I start for the first time in a day and drive to a stop sometime very soon after I start it. The engine has a dip in rpms, and then tries to lurch forward when I'm on the brake, and then stalls. I start it back up and it's fine. It's happened about 5-10 times since I bought it back in april 05. The dealer had no clue what was wrong, they tried keeping it for a week and weren't able to reproduce the problem.”
