Example complaints

Selected from NHTSA records; personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

“This has happened several times. I will be driving the vehicle, and the rpms will drop too low (even when giving the truck gas) and suddenly the vehicle will stall. This has happened going 60 MPH on the highway, during turns, and also when coming to a stop. The vehicle does restart immediately, though when I am driving I have to put it in neutral to restart it. I have almost been in accidents due to this issue. I had the fuel intake cleaned thinking that might be the issue.”

NHTSA complaint #10713410, filed 2015-04, 138,000 miles

“Upon starting my vehicle it doesn't immediately respond to pressing the gas pedal. When it does get going the vehicle stalls and shuts off at the first slow down I make. This happens every morning. I have done nothing to fix the problem yet because no one can tell me what is causing it.”

NHTSA complaint #10321102, filed 2010-03, 85,000 miles

“Problems with the electrical harness in 2 Dodge ram pick ups the one we have now, no heat blows..... Also we have a sun roof and it leaks water. I know 14 people that have this truck and 12 of them have problems with the heat/blower.”

NHTSA complaint #10557907, filed 2013-12, 32,000 miles

“When I slow down, and specifically turn the wheel in either direction, my Dodge will randomly stall. The radio will stay on and the only way I know the truck has stalled is because I am not going anywhere. Once I put it in neutral it starts right up and takes off. This is extremely dangerous and has almost caused accidents. Took it to my local Dodge dealership and they have no clue what it could be as they were unable to duplicate the problem.”

NHTSA complaint #10426302, filed 2011-09, 84,000 miles

“I found out that my Dodge had only the rear passenger side tail light working, no turn signals, the passenger headlight only worked on low beam, and the drivers headlight only work on high beam. I replaced every bulb in the truck and still the same problem. I did some research and found that the integrated distribution center ( fuse box) has been a problem with corrosion inside the box. I looked everywhere for a new one, no luck. I then called chrysler corporation and they searched the entire u.s. And not one dealer had a fuse box. …”
