“I have a 2005 Dodge RAM 1500. The windshield wipers work incorrectly. They may work fine or they may stop half way and quit, or not even work at all! I had the same issue with my old 1997 chevy s-10 truck, and it was fixed under a recall. My Dodge has the exact same issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10320940, filed 2010-03, 40,000 miles“My windshield wipers do not work properly - I only turn them on in the rain, in western washington state. I turn wipers on, and have to pull over because they will not work, and I cannot see. This happens daily because of the amount of rain.”
NHTSA complaint #10376788, filed 2011-01, 58,000 miles“My air condition won't switch to defrost creating a safety hazard. Dodge is aware of the problem but acted like they never heard of it before. I brought it there 3 times to fix and the problem was never fixed. 2005 Dodge RAM 1500.”
NHTSA complaint #10369266, filed 2010-12, 10,000 miles“When I turn on my left turn signal my right turn signal blinks. Some times my wipers won't come on or stop running. I am told that the multifunction switch needs to be replaced. This is definitely a safety issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10403300, filed 2011-05, 18,000 miles“Turn signals work sporadically. This is a daily issue. Signal left and the right signal comes on. Signal right and maybe the left turn signal comes on, or maybe not at all. Sometimes turn signals randomly switch back and forth between left and right on their own. Many times turn signals don't work at all. Once the wipers did not work. Hazard lights sometimes do not work. I have had the multi-function switch replaced twice under warranty and twice again since. Still have the issue. I believe this is a safety concern as the turn signals are telegraphing the wrong information to other drivers. …”
