“Driving on the highway in washington state during a snowy day and the defrost started blowing cold air. Dealer seems to think it is a broken blend door. As I have researched it on the web it is a very common problem and very expensive to fix but since someone hasn't deemed it a safety issue there is no recall. I on the other hand see foggy frozen windshield and windows as a safety issue.”
NHTSA complaint #10690329, filed 2015-02, 84,000 miles“There is a problem with everything electrically related to the truck. The headlights stay on, I have to disconnect the battery to get them to go off. The windshield wipers constantly remain on. The interior lights, door locks, windows, seats, heat, A/C, radio, dash lights, etc do not work. Once the truck starts, all of the dash warning lights come on. (check engine, ABS, low windshield wiper fluid, voltage, low oil pressure, etc) the truck is not safe to drive and is a hazard to my family.”
NHTSA complaint #10930103, filed 2016-12, 82,000 miles“I have had the totally integrated power module replaced twice now due to failure. Apparently this is a very common issue in dodges. It has caused my window defroster, wipers, door locks and windows randomly not to work. Pretty much anything electrical. My passenger airbag goes on and off, regardless of whether or not someone is in the passenger seat. My ABS brake system has been malfunctioning and locking up on me. This has been a huge safety issue when there's cold weather or rain and all of a sudden my defroster or wipers arent working or my turn signal is cutting out. …”
NHTSA complaint #11082637, filed 2018-04, 150,000 miles“My 2009 Dodge RAM 1500 is making a banging sound behind the glove box. I have had this issue before since it was an heat blend door actuator that went out. The dealership fixed it once and now its back again. Is this going to be an on going issue each year and the part needs to be replaced. I was quoted almost $750 in just labor fees to get it changed out. I don't think this is an issue on my end since the part appears to last for a year. I will continue to monitor the A/C and check with other Dodge ram forums on how others had this solved.”
NHTSA complaint #10701746, filed 2015-03, 86,100 miles“My 2009 Dodge ram windshield became real foggy while I was driving at a speed of 56mph and when I attempted to turn on the defrost/defogger nothing happen. So I applied the brakes and move to the shoulder of the road safely that time thanks the almighty. This could be deadly and I am glad I was driving andnotone of the children nor my wife. Please recall all 2009 Dodge ram pickups and replace the manual climate valve motor and sensors if needed, I beg Dodge to make our vehicles safer. Thank you!!!”
