“The contact owns a 1999 Dodge RAM 3500. The contact stated that both front driver and passenger seat belt failed to retract. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer, but was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 290,000. Updated 11/17/11 the consumer also stated the dashboard suddenly collapsed into pieces and needs to be replaced. Updated 02/29/12”

The failure would prevent occupants in the vehicle from being protected in the event of a crash. The dealer stated that the VIN was excluded from NHTSA campaign id number 01v119000 (seat belts:front:retractor) and they would not assume financial responsibility. When the contact entered her VIN on the manufacturer's website, the output stated that her VIN was included in the recall. The vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 64,000. …”
