“While traveling on the highway, when I'm at highway speeds and I hit a bump in the road the entire front end of the truck shakes and bounces uncontrollably until I slow to around 50 MPH. I have had ball joints, tie rods, shocks and steering stabilizer replaced, plus new tires and multiple alignments performed. My master mechanic said non of this will remedy the issue. The y type steering setup is the problem, the dealer told me it needs to be updated to the 09 steering but it's not covered under recall. …”
NHTSA complaint #10903066, filed 2016-09, 140,000 miles“The seat belt will not release. You are stuck in the seat until a screw driver or another devise is used to let you out. This has caused us to leave the seat belt latched but we are no longer secured in it. It's the law that I must wear a seat belt but I am scared no one will be around to release me from the seat belt. The front driver seat does not recline easily. If it is reclined and I want the seat to come forward it gets stuck and takes numerous tries to get it straight.”
NHTSA complaint #10466754, filed 2012-07, 35,000 miles“This problem cross multiple years of the Dodge ram 2500-3500 series of pickups. The front seat belts have an overactive pre-tensioner, which if traveling on a rough, gravel, or a simple bump/crack, or even turning a corner activate and continues to tighten and restrict the driver and passenger from moving. If on a rough or gravel road, the tightness of the seatbelts get to the point of having to remove them during driving, allow them to retract, pull back out, and rebuckle, only to repeat a few minutes later. …”
