“Ever since we purchased the truck used from Dodge dealer in tucson arizona we have had concerns with suspension and steering of the truck. When driving the truck steering is bouncy and unstable. We thought it was alignment so we took it in and truck continues the same. When pulling out 34' 5th wheel steering is very shaky and vibrates a lot. After years of bringing up concern with Dodge dealer we took to another shop where they gave us a huge list of things needing too get fixed. We went back to Dodge dealer where they gave us a 2nd opinion and came up with additional concerns with truck. …”

Once slowing down or stopping vehicle became operable again. Upon starting again the vibration started. Vehicle was taken to the dealer six times, but problem recurred.”

NHTSA complaint #10087217, filed 2004-08

“Vehicle would wander and it was difficult to maintain a straight line while driving at any speed. Dealership has examined vehicle three times for this problem, and replaced drag link which ran from frame to axle that prevents side to side movement, but did not prevent problem from reoccurring. This has occurred at 97000/ 102000, and 104000 miles within the last 9 months. Please provide any additional information/attachments.”

NHTSA complaint #890025, filed 2001-06

“Vehicle has excessive road wander; also noted by other roadtrek owners. Chrysler is reported to be aware of the problem, but offers no remedy to models after 1997 on service bulletin #021197, dated 11/28/1997, service group 02.”

NHTSA complaint #716982, filed 2000-01

“Vehicle was coming to a stop and upper ball joint on the left side popped out. It felt like vehicle hit a pothole. Front tire was out at bottom and top toward the center of vehicle. Also, steering wheel went to a 25 degree to keep it straight in road. This was second time this happened to right side. First time dealer fixed it. But, consumer did not want them to repair it again because problem was not being rectified. Consumer was trying to go through arbitration. This has happened on the left and right sides, consumer filed arbitration and it was ruled that chrysler buy back the vehicle.”
