NHTSA complaint #10323682, filed 2010-04, 29,000 miles

“There is a recall on the tie rod. The vehicle was taken to a chrysler dealership in kissimme fl in 2014 on two different occasions. We were told by the dealership both times that the tie rod was not bad and they would not change it out. On 2/21/15, I was driving approximately 10 MPH when the tie rod fractured and I lost complete steering and was shot left of center. Fortunately, there was no oncoming traffic and I was able to pull off the side of the road without crashing into anything or anyone. …”

NHTSA complaint #10689901, filed 2015-02, 140,000 miles

“My husband and I just bought a 2008 Dodge 3500 mega cab 4x4 4 weeks ago when you reach speeds of 60-70 MPH and hit a normal bump in the road the truck starts to shake uncontrollably until you come to an almost complete stop. The truck has 50,000 on it and in the past 4 weeks of owning it has done it 4 or 5 times and almost caused a very bad wreck something is wrong with these trucks they need fixed. The dealer is giving us the run around about fixing it.”

NHTSA complaint #10416545, filed 2011-08, 50,000 miles

“While driving down the road whether it is on the highway running 65-75 or on a side road running 45-60 if you hit a bump, come off a bridge, or drive over anything that is not smooth road the vehicle will go into an uncontrollable wobble/shake. In order to regain control of the truck you have to slow down slowly and steadily and pray you don't start changing lanes because when she starts shaking it's driving itself! I know I'm not the only person that experiences this. The NHTSA needs to put some heat on Dodge about this because it's going to get someone hurt!”

NHTSA complaint #10560867, filed 2014-01, 80,000 miles

“Vehicle has a death wobble, dealerships keep replacing steering damper, three times since 2009, it comes on unexpectedly, the problem is in the front end, just turned 40,000 miles, I will not allow anyone to drive this truck, it is an accident waiting to happen, Dodge dealerships will not resolve the issue correctly. Thus why it has only 40k on it. I do not want to even drive it over 45 MPH. It has the problem again, I would like to trade it in, but do not want to give someone this headache. I will not even drive with my children in this truck. Also have had EGR valve issues. …”
