2007: “Takata recall: I have been in contact with the Dodge recall people for the last year and have not been able to get any action on their part. They have put me in contact with all the Dodge dealers in south florida and none of them will work on my Sprinter. Part of the problem is that my vehicle is an rv built onto the Dodge Sprinter and another problem is that in 2007 Dodge was owned by mercedes bens and Dodge does not feel responsible for mercedes products.”
NHTSA complaint #11057829, filed 2018-01, 34,000 miles2004: “The sliding door which is the only egress for passengers in the back of the van will not open. I have had it fixed 4 times and it continuously fails. I have talked to other Sprinter owners and they have the same problem. Should there be an incident that required the quick evacuation of the van by passengers in the rear of the van they could be very seriously harmed. This is a very serious defect that chrysler will not acknowledge.”
NHTSA complaint #10610216, filed 2014-07, 11,000 miles2003: “We operate 2 2003 Dodge Sprinter passenger vans in our airport shuttle business. On thursday, may 19th we had a vehicle just quit after start-up when the driver stepped on the gas. She re-started, drove a block, it quits again. We had 6 passengers onbaord to go to the airport. She could not make the vehicle run more than a few blocks and if she stepped on the gas to accelerate it would quit. …”
