The vehicle continued to exhibit movement/non movement at times. The vehicle went into reverse with no occupants in the vehicle and the gear indicator remained in the park position. The consumer requested funds in the amount of the original cost of the vehicle. …”
NHTSA complaint #10113768, filed 2005-03, 232 miles“Car would hesitate at a stop sign. It did not shift into gears properly. After starting the car and putting it into gear it would not move. We didn't report this problem to the dealer when it was first noticed. In june we called the dealer who wanted $60 just to look at it. We took it to cottman who told us it needed a new transmission. …”
NHTSA complaint #712531, filed 1999-09“Since I had this car shifting is hard in it and shutters when going in to over drive. I have talk to alot of people and said theres done the same thing. I hope there is nothing wrong because it would cost me to much to have it fixed my husband bought me the car because I was sick and needed a good car to go to drive.”
NHTSA complaint #707404, filed 1999-06“Besides the transmission failing, the crankcase started to leak and the air-flow actautor failed. All of this happened within a 30 day period. Chrysler was no help at all on the transmission problem, and was downright rude. After owning 4 chrysler vehicles in my life, I'll never purchase another product from them again. My transmission was serviced by dealers and my car is kept in excellent condition.”
NHTSA complaint #703166, filed 1999-02“The contact stated the shifter arm was difficult to shift from the park position to drive or reverse whenever the vehicle was started. Transmission fluid was added every week or two, which seemed to make shifting easier. The air conditioner failed and an independent mechanic determined the coil was flat and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified.”
