Example complaints

One per model year, chosen for length and detail. Personal details are removed. They are consumer reports, not findings.

2003: “2003 Fleetwood Prowler lite 25y travel trailer. The left rear spring bracket broke away from frame. When I discovered it it was still holding at one edge. If I had not spotted it, it certainly would have broken off leaving the rear trailer axle loose on the left side. This would have caused severe control problems and probably a crash. This trailer is less than 2 yrs. Old but the frame already shows heavy rust. The break occured at a weld joint and it appears to have been improperly welded.”

NHTSA complaint #10072701, filed 2004-05, 13,000 miles

2004: “While driving low speeds front shocks punctured the front passenger's side tire and damaged the wheel well. Consumer had the tire changed. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. The slideouts came out about 8 inched while driving down the freeway. The consumer had to exit the vehicle and push them back in by hand.”

NHTSA complaint #10097755, filed 2004-12, 2,000 miles

2005: “We were driving on us 64 in columbia, north carolina. Our son was following behind us when my son noticed smoke coming from under our 2005, regal Prowler fifth wheel. When my husband pulled over and inspected our rv, he saw that two of the shock mount welds broke off from the frame of the rv. One of the mounts dug into the tire. Luckily for us our son noticed the smoke, otherwise we would have surely had a blowout.”
