NHTSA complaint #880281, filed 2001-02

“When traveling on the highway with the high beams on, the switch fails and shuts off all head lights. This is a serious safety hazard when traveling winding country roads in pitch darkness. This is also a serious condition when traveling low speeds on a narrow gravel road when turning off the highway. This has occurred on several instances when traveling normal highway speeds and at low speed when turning into a county road from a paved highway causing loss of all visibility of the road. …”

NHTSA complaint #755970, filed 2001-12

“Lens or cover of headlamp assembly seems to be plastic. Lenses opaque with age and cut down on available light generated by halogen bulb assembly. Is there a glass replacement lens equipped assembly? Going to higher intensity bulb only masks problem.”
