“2002 f-350 4x4 pickup frame weld cracking just in front of front leaf spring, where frame is joined, has rivets and weld. Big-brand tire co. Has found 6 vehicales same problem, not all were trucks. They showed problem to me, and I have found same problem on other trucks of friends. You can here the frame making sounds going down the road. I have not contacted local dealer vista Ford in oxnard yet, waiting to here from you.”
NHTSA complaint #10156640, filed 2006-05, 36,000 miles“The contact owns a 2002 Ford e350 super duty. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the front end of the frame fractured into two pieces, causing the contact to crash into a barrier on the interstate. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a private mechanic who confirmed that the a frame was fractured and caused the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.”
