“While backing into a parking space, the ABS and traction control lights started flashing and audible warnings sounded. The car started shaking. I was unable to stop or steer my car. I had a low speed collision with a properly parked car. Thank god no one was injured. Had this happened on an open road the outcome would have been different. I had reported this problem to my dealer previously. They applied an existing recall saying that it fixed the issue. That was on the 20th of october 2015. The car is being towed to my dealer's body shop for inspection by usaa. I never want to drive it again. …”

NHTSA complaint #10794691, filed 2015-11, 15,700 miles

“I was driving my 2015 Ford Escape going about 50mph when my steering wheel just froze. It took all of my strength to try to turn the wheel so I could get myself off the main road and out of everyone's way. I got myself to the side and couldn't turn the wheel at all. Luckily my family wasn't too far so my dad was gonna help me get my car home but he couldn't even turn the wheel. We had to call for a tow truck. Also my 2015 Ford Escape would stall after pumping gas, taking several attempts to start my car and at times not starting at all after filling my tank. …”
