“We bought this car used with 33000 miles. It now has 46000 miles. At 37000 miles the passenger seat belt started to randomly lock up. It would pin my wife to the seat back. Every time we had to stop the car to unbuckle, then feed the belt back into the mechanism to pull it back out. If she leaned forward to adjust the radio it would sometimes let out an inch or two or three, then lock. We then had to stop the car, unbuckle and feed it back in, then start over. Sometimes it locks in place as soon as she buckles up be fore I start the car. Sometimes it will go several days with no issue. …”

NHTSA complaint #11297265, filed 2020-01, 37,000 miles

“My driver side seat belt pulls out, however, if it comes out too far, it doesn't go back to being tight, like it should. The car is stationary when this happens.”

NHTSA complaint #11355476, filed 2020-09, 100,000 miles

“My child got into the back passenger seat and wasn’t able to click her seatbelt into the buckle. I used a flashlight to see if something had gotten stuck in it, there’s nothing. It simply won’t click in. The red button can be pressed down but won’t allow the seatbelt to go into it. I used this same seatbelt and could buckle into both other buckles.”

NHTSA complaint #11748950, filed 2026-07

“Drivers seatbelt doesn't latch properly. I have to keep pullin the seat buckle in and out several times until it finally latches. This occurs pretty much every time I put on the seatbelt. Down below I had to select a date wouldn't let me go back further than jan. But this has been going on several months since last year. I got the car used in jul 2020”

NHTSA complaint #11398146, filed 2021-02

“I recently purchased this vehicle. The driver seatbelt does not retract snugly when fastened. The tensioner is not working. I am afraid it will not hold me if I crash. I will fix this. It is a serious safety issue!”
