“Ejected spark plug rupturing the fuel rail catching the truck on fire, burning it to a crisp. Happened 4 times, (ejecting the plug) the first time the Ford dealer repaired it. We were driving it down the road heard a bang than a hiss of the fuel leaking got the truck stopped and just got out in time. Full flames in less than 2 minutes.”

Contacted the dealer who said that no one else had experienced this problem. This could have been a serious incident if it had occurred on the highway or while towing a trailer.”

Complainant was recently asked to consult in the matter of a fatal high speed head on two-vehicle collision. While driving westbound 2001 Ford expedition veered into the oncoming lane and struck an eastbound 2000 Ford f250 long bed truck towing a 5th wheel travel trailer. The resulting collision killed the three occupants in the 2001 expedition and the two occupants in the 2000 Ford f250 pickup truck. …”
