2011: “Michelin tire failure. Catastrophic tire blowout-front tire. Ford f350 truck pulling a 5th wheel trailer. 3 vehicles involved on california interstate highway 101. While towing a 5th wheel trailer I had a front left tire blow. The tire blew during a right turn/bend in the highway. I could only maintain the vehicle in a straight line until we stopped. The tire caused substantial damage to the tow vehicle and a collision with another vehicle on the highway. We almost ended up in a ditch.”
NHTSA complaint #10631511, filed 2014-09, 48,000 miles2012: “I got in my truck and shut my driver door but it did latch but not close completely and then heard a explosion looked back and the passenger rear window exploded out wards I have a 4 door. It is almost like the compression in the truck is very high. Only owned this truck a couple months and have noticed it is hard to close the doors all the way with out slamming the door. Never have saw this before , no cracks or anything it just shattered outwards. I need to know if fords going to replace this or not.”
