“Was approaching a stop light, when all of a sudden my radio went out, my gauges started to go crazy, then my truck had shut off and turned back on. After that I noticed smoke coming from under the hood went to press my brakes, I had no brakes. So I turned into a parking lot, where now my gauges had pegged all to one side, more smoke was coming from under the hood, and now I still didn't have no brakes or power steering. So I slammed the truck into park, then shut it off. …”

NHTSA complaint #10715244, filed 2015-05, 29,000 miles“I own a 1995 Ford f-150 4x4. I bought the truck in december of 1998, and it had approximately 87,000 miles on it. I started having trouble with the cruise control shortly after I bought the truck, but I also had trouble with the speedometer. I thought that the cruise control was caused by the speedometer problem. I also had trouble with the automatic transmission, which I contributed to the speedometer fluctuation. Since then, I have had the rearend rebuilt, and have replaced the transmission. I still experience problems with the transmission, and the cruise control. …”
