“On 05/09/2014 at approximately 1750 hours I was traveling southbound on interstate 95 adjacent to mile marker 99 located near stuart, florida when I suddenly felt a very strong vibration and loud noise coming from the front right axle, immediately after the front right tire tread separated from the tire causing me to loose steering control of the vehicle. …”

NHTSA complaint #10587719, filed 2014-05, 97,500 miles

“Ok so I've had my Ford Focus for about 3 months now I fell in love with this little thing recently got struts changed in front and ball joints bushings and tires so I knew it would need an alignment so got that done now at speeds from 50-60 MPH this car starts fishtailing out of control I dont have alot of money I am not workin at present so I cant afford to take my used car to dealer much less to another auto shop. I travel 50 -70 miles each day to work and I'm scared its gonna fishtail me into a wreck. Mileage 134000 applke valley calif.”

NHTSA complaint #10905560, filed 2016-09, 134,000 miles

“Ford Focus rims. The car has less then 25,000 miles. We took it to be looked at due to a shake in the steering wheel. We were informed that it has three bent rims. Also was informed that the dealer nor the manufacture was going to do anything about it. The car is driven only by a stay at home mother and has never been in a accident. Nor has it come into contact with large pot holes.”

NHTSA complaint #10060405, filed 2004-03, 1 miles

“Since 2003 I've had to replace numerous tires (5) and one wheel hub due to going over rough, but not usually hazardous road problems, such as a small/medium pothole. My car is in the shop, yet again, having a tire fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #10254747, filed 2009-01, 80,000 miles

“In attempting to remove the right rear wheel and tire assembly from my car, I found this to be impossible-apparently ,the cast wheel metal had corroded to the hub. This made an impossibly difficult and potentially dangerous problem of a normally routine one.”

NHTSA complaint #10056228, filed 2004-01, 12,225 miles
