“The rear passenger bearing has failed on my vehicle. The bearings appear to be recalled on the year and make of my vehicle but the dealership refuses to replace them. Nhtsa campaign #01i017000,”
NHTSA complaint #11141194, filed 2018-10, 145,000 miles“I now have a problem with the transmission. The mechanic thinks it is a filter or switch that keeps the oil level in the transmission when turning right. My car shuts off when I make right turns. I have spent way too much money and still owe on this car..frankly I would like to turn it in! Has lot of repair needs too much money. I had all of the recall work done also”
NHTSA complaint #10070598, filed 2004-01, 62,000 miles“The 2000 Ford Focus started making a grinding noise 3 weeks after purchasing it. The back riders side wheel bearing was bad. It has now been changed 3 times in less than 1 year and 6000 miles! We found there had been a recall on this same thing back in 2001,and was fixed. So its still going bad and Ford wont stand behind it! Also the door handle wont work and that was a recall that was fixed too, also to bad so sad! Ford has turned into a very bad company to do business with!we have always had fords, but that's about to change!”
NHTSA complaint #10460212, filed 2012-05, 135,000 miles“On 19 feb 2005 I went to have my rear brakes replaced on my 2000 Ford Focus. When they went to replace the rear brakes, they found that the rear wheel bearings were seized to the rear spindle. I had recall #01b85b done on 27 dec 2001 to prevent this. But it did not help.”
NHTSA complaint #10111856, filed 2005-02, 130,000 miles“The main concern I have is that I have had this car in 4 times now for rear wheel bearings. My other issue is that when the actuator in the rear drivers door went out that all the locks and windows freeze up in the locked position it that is where they were at when it dies. Not the key, manually or remote will wor. This to me is a saftey issue, you could potentially be locked into your vehicle with no way out.”
