“I bought my Focus in 2000. Since then I have suffered 2 blowouts that neither Ford or firestone would fix. I've had brake pads replaced once and now have to have brakepads and rotor replaced. Sometimes the key won't turn the ignition. And of course this morning (one of the coldest days we've had) something has gone wrong with the heater.”

On my way to the shop my barring went completely out. My ABS light came on the everything locked up,got to shop right rear wheel was smoking bad. Shop told me everything burned up coast me 1,200.00 to get back on road. Just one of the many things fixed.”

NHTSA complaint #10227492, filed 2008-05, 110,000 miles

“My brakes have squeaked and chirped ever since I have owned the car. I had pads and rotors replaced for the first time at 28,000 miles, and am facing having the same work done again at 48,000 miles. My automatic transmission failed at 35,000 miles, and the recalls have kept me at the service department more hours than I can count.”

NHTSA complaint #10022994, filed 2003-06, 28,000 miles

“On 19 feb 2005 I went to have my rear brakes replaced on my 2000 Ford Focus. When they went to replace the rear brakes, they found that the rear wheel bearings were seized to the rear spindle. I had recall #01b85b done on 27 dec 2001 to prevent this. But it did not help.”

NHTSA complaint #10111856, filed 2005-02, 130,000 miles

“The brake system is horrible. They make noises all the time. I have replaced the cylinders and the shoes and it still does not sound right. The suspension is bad and needs replacing, but I can not afford it. I am a teacher. Cruise control has gone bad, because of a faulty wire.”
