“My 2000 Ford Focus stalls whenever I come to a stop, it occurs everyday and at times my car has shut off right in the middle of traffic almost causing collisions. Nothing has been done to correct the failure, Ford has not contacted me in regards to the recall nor have they return any of my attempts to get the problem solved.”

“The day the problem began my car was idling very oddly. The RPM's would race up, like I was accelerating then the next second it seemed like the car was going to die. The car had over a 1/4 of a tank of gas in it. Then the car just quit while I was driving down the road. To find out it was completely out of gas even though the gas gage read 1/4.”

I called my local Ford dealer and asked them about it and they told me its becoming very common for this type of car and to repair it I would have to replace the ignition cylinder and have it programmed...”

NHTSA complaint #10249533, filed 2008-11, 120,000 miles

“I have owned this car since december of 2003 and it has been a very large money pit. This time the car just stopped running. I had taken it to autozone and they told me it need an EGR sensor or hosing for it. When I was turning at a light the car just stopped running when I had just turned onto a main highway. There has been major electrical problems with it since day one. This car has had 5 clutches in it and I have complained about that all in itself because a car should never need that many clutches within 100,000 miles. …”
