2006 Ford Focus Fuel system Problems

“Hello national highway traffic safety administration, I would like to create a vehicle complaint regarding the Ford Focus 2006 sedan zx4 that I purchased the vehicle september 20, 2017. While driving within a service road, the vehicle's stalled and stopped running while driving upon multiple instances over the same day of purchasing and through out the weekend of september 22 - september 30th. As a result, I returned the vehicle to the dealer of lansing power motors inc. For an inspection september 23, 2017. …”

“Gas pedal started sticking irregularly at around 30,000 miles, even at low speeds. Was very sporadic. Most recent event happened 12/5/2014 when gas pedal was frozen completely while traveling at 70 MPH. It wouldn't budge. Then I put my foot on the lowest edge of the pedal and it started working again. If you google Ford Focus gas pedal sticks , there are numerous complaints. The throttle body is the apparent cause. Ford should recall these vehicles due to the number of complaints online.”

“Gas pedal sticking due to manufactures defect in the way the gas pedal cable is designed. There was not really a crash, but we did have to go off of the road to keep form hitting the car in front of us at a stop light. The cable was frayed and was getting stuck inside of the jacket causing the pedal to stick at the previous setting. I contacted Ford, I was told too bad nothing we can do if this problem is not fixed people will die and Ford doesn't care! Not any real property damage, just mud and a few scratches from going off of the road.”

“After accident occurred on sept 6, 2009, I noticed that the gas pedal seems to stick especially after or during use of the cruise control. Car engine also revved in park once, and a couple of times seemed hard to brake. Car taken to dealership and diagnosed for $100. Dealership says it is not related to accident but that the throttle body needs to be replaced because the pedal is sticking and it is a safety issue - cost almost $400 not including the cost of the diagnostics. Second dealership confirmed price of throttle body and said that I needed to get it fixed because it's a safety issue. …”

“Driving down the road and gas peddle get stuck and sometimes wont push down to go sometimes while on the highway the headlights and all lights flicker all the time when I have them on at night gottin pulled over a couple of times tookin it too the shop and they said everythings ok on highway 36 between brookfield and chillicothe mo”
