“My radio goes off by itself, and all light flicker even when driving of a night. It is now making a sound like tight belts...but does not appear to have any ready to break. Ford you really messed up on this one! I no longer like having a Ford car! I have had 3 different alternators on the car and it has not helped!”
NHTSA complaint #10916521, filed 2016-10, 220,000 miles“Anti slip kicks in & the ground is dry, this has happened 6 times now. The transmission had to be rebuild on a new 2006 Freestar. Now Ford has my van (since sept.27,06)waiting for the page, so it can be fixed.the anti slip kicks in when it wants to - I almost got killed twice. They are stating it is a senor in the steering column that overheats & causes the anit slip to turn on. I have asked for a new van, but I think they will not. The last incident was 9-27-06.”
NHTSA complaint #10170852, filed 2006-10“The contact owns a 2006 Ford Freestar. The contact stated that the air conditioning only works properly while driving over 60 MPH. The air conditioning does not work at all below 60 MPH. The dealer stated that the o-ring compressor failed and caused metal to grind, which inevitably caused the air conditioning to fail. The vehicle has not been repaired because the cost exceeded $1,500. The manufacturer would not assist. The current and failure mileages were 56,000.”
