NHTSA complaint #10375441, filed 2011-01, 175,250 miles

“1995 Ford Windstar engine head gasket failure - Ford will not admint to a defect in quality. This van now sits in my driveway for over a year and no one will fixit for under 3500.00. Problem is that because of the defects in this van, the value of it is 1000.00. I also put two transmittions into it, water pumps, thermostats, radiator and no one informed me of a potental defect with the head gaskets”

NHTSA complaint #10002867, filed 2003-01, 110,000 miles

“While driving down the highway in akron ohio,I had the tac drop and the engine quit. It then came back on,(the engine). So stop at daughter to pick up sum furniture to take to dayton. As I was going down the interstate 71 toward columbus, ohio I got off the interstate and put fuel in the van. …”

NHTSA complaint #10030637, filed 2003-08, 130,140 miles

“I have owned my van since january 2000. Shortly after purchasing, my van had a blown head gasket, which was fixed under the Ford recall. Still within the recall, a head gasket blew again. Ford told me the recall only allows for a one time repair. Since then, my van is on its third engine and third transmission. Most recently we have had to replace the main computer as well. We have spent more money fixing the van than what we paid for it.”

NHTSA complaint #10075139, filed 2004-06, 82,000 miles

“The automatic transmission on the vehicle needs to be rebuilt/replaced. At 80,000 miles. I do not tow with the vehicle nor did I abuse it. I am the original owner. Transmission repair shop found bits of metal in fluid.”
