“After purchasing van, not even one month later all lights started to turn on engine, ABS now n and its a rear light on gauge panel also we are in the middle of trying to get decent price for the freeze plug which also needs to be replaced because there is a leak of coolant from the bottom of van. Other wise its ok to drive. One I thing I didn't mention is the seat its struck it wont move back or forward with the electrical button.”
NHTSA complaint #10479633, filed 2012-10, 250,000 miles“The vehicle was rear ended and driver's seat failed. It fell completely back on the middle row seat. Usually my youngest child (baby at the time) would have been (in her child seat) in the middle row and I'm sure she would have been killed if she had been in the van that day.”
NHTSA complaint #10008234, filed 2003-02“The major complaint, the driver's seat, has been reported to both Ford motor company and the dealership - neither of whom has seen fit to acknowledge my existence on this planet. The seat will not adjust (lever apparently has a perpetual short) - which means I can't see comfortable over the steering wheel.”
NHTSA complaint #754014, filed 2001-11“While stopped at red light, our Ford Windstar was rear-ended by a Ford focus estimated to be going 50-60mph. Both of us in the front seats suffered severe calf muscle injuries. We believe these were caused by the manual seat adjustment bar that runs the full width of the seat. We were both wearing seatbelts. An additional note: the driver's seatback broke on impact. Is there any history of leg trauma caused by seat hardware in rear-end collisions?”
NHTSA complaint #10065966, filed 2004-04“Horn is very hard to deploy; sweet spot too small and requires excessive effort. Cannot be used quickly. Ford corporate refused to respond to my worries about this. Also seatback lever springs middle seats back so hard I have been whacked in the head so hard I saw stars.”
