2019 Genesis G70 Steering Problems

“I can feel a popping in my hands through the steering wheel when turning the wheel one or two degrees left or right. This happens when standing at a light (foot on brake), in park, moving less than 10mph, and even with the car off. The popping can also be felt below the stalks on the steering column. There is also a popping sound or click that is most easily heard when the car is off. It feels like the steering wheel is catching something in the first 1 or two degrees of movement before the wheels turn. The problem started after about 4,400 miles, in january of 2020. …”

When accelerating using the steering wheel cruise controls the car accelerates rapidly going way faster than one would wish. Unlike most cars, the switch on the steering wheel does not lock in a speed when you release it when speedometer reads the desired speed. Instead the care keeps accelerating, the turbo kicks in and the g-force pushes you back into the seat.”
