“I was driving my 2022 Genesis GV80 on Sunday April 5th, 2026 when the vehicle started to overheat. This is the second incident that happened due to the vehicle overheating. The first time reported was in December 2025 at a cost of $3400 out of pocket. Now I see this recall for a potential fire that can be caused by the manufacturer defect. This is very concerning, since the vehicle has been serviced since I purchased the Genesis as a gift to myself in November 2021. This does not sit well with me, with Genesis being a Luxury brand. …”

NHTSA complaint #11731757, filed 2026-04

“I have been driving my car and it will automatically flip to neutral and start blinking all sorts of engine lights. I can sometimes stop the car and restart it, and it will be okay, but it typically takes a few tries. It has happened after I start my car and am in the driveway, when I'm going ~40MPH and when I'm on the interstate going >70MPH. I have an infant and have been in the car with him when this has happened. This is obviously anxiety inducing anytime I get in the car, but even more so when I need to transport him. …”

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 52,392.”

“4/2/26, very hard to start the engine and engine warning light was blinking. noticed significant amount of fuel leaking on driver side of engine. The vehicle was towed to Genesis dealership. 4/3/26, engine cylinder #4 fuel leaking due to broken o-ring per dealership. Crossover fuel pipe and o-ring were replaced.”

NHTSA complaint #11732196, filed 2026-04

“In 2 instances power steering doesn’t work and brakes go to the floor (it will stop, but very slowly). I believe pretty much every error code displays when this happens. Here’s some error codes: C165C87, C162387, C164286, C168787, U012300, C17024A, C174281. In addition, the back windshield cleaner sprays till it empties.”
