“I'm the 2nd owner and so far I've had to have a motor mount & 2 catalytic converters replaced. The AC started having issues with the controls not working & then the AC completely broke and leaked all the refrigerant which made a huge mess. There's a horrible oil leak that can't seem to be stopped. The brake pedel makes a loud squeaking noise. And now there is some strange noise coming from behind the dash, uncertain if it's the radio, cd player or AC/heat. All these problems at under 80,000 miles!!!”

NHTSA complaint #10652216, filed 2014-11, 79,880 miles

“Air conditioner/compressor has failed and the unit is leaking freon inside the car cabin when air conditioning or vents are open. There is also a hissing sound and exhaust coming from the compressor, which was proceeded by a burning smell when the unit initially failed. After doing some research, it appears that this is an on-going issue for people who own this particular make and model of car - there are dozens of people documenting this issue online, but Gmc refuses to acknowledge that there is a problem. …”

NHTSA complaint #10545186, filed 2013-09, 34,000 miles

“The contact owns a 2011 Gmc Acadia. While driving at 55 MPH, the contact noticed fluid leaking out of the air vents. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the air conditioner line between the compressor and the condenser needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 75,000.”
