“Power and power steering failure- when it rains or I drive through puddles of water the car looses power and slows. Also when I am driving the power steering stops working and there is a loud squealing noise. I had the dealer look at my Acadia and they said they could readjust the belt guard. This did not work and they said just be cautious while driving. Also the cruise control doesn't coast and the speed increases as you go down hill.”
NHTSA complaint #10324778, filed 2010-04, 44,000 miles“We bought our 2008 Gmc Acadia in january 2008. The battery died in july 2008 while vacationing in canada leaving us stranded. After it went dead several more times the dealership replaced it. The air conditioning went out several times in 2010 and we had to pay to have the AC recharged twice since. In july 2013 we had to have the transmission replaced when it stopped shifting into gear. Our warranty had expired in january of that year. The dealership did get GM to pay half but it still cost us almost $2,000.00. …”
NHTSA complaint #10592098, filed 2014-05, 69,000 miles“I just purchased a 2008 Gmc Acadia one month ago. We live in washington state and it rains alot. The first couple days of driving the vehicle, we experienced water dripping all over our seats, floor, and in corners of windows when we drove it getting my 3 children and myself wet. I didn't think it was such a big deal at first since I figured it was a minor leak I could easily fix. Over the next 2 weeks, I noticed my front headlight would flicker on and off and sometimes not work at all. I also figured it was a typical vehicle issue. …”
NHTSA complaint #10653643, filed 2014-11, 173,000 miles“We purchased our 2008 Acadia in 2011, it had approximately 30,000 miles on it at the time of purchase. Less than thirty days after purchase we had to replace the front rotors. At 40,000 miles we had to replace the front brakes; the air conditioner backed up, which required maintenance to the blower motor; and the head lights went out, which required replacement. At 45,000 miles the rear struts went out, which required replacement; and we had to replace two tires. At 60,000 miles the water pump went out and needed to be replaced. …”
NHTSA complaint #10520320, filed 2013-06, 74,000 miles“The service brake light and stabilatrac comes on every time you start the vehicle and sometimes while driving. Have not received a quote from the dealership yet. Will there be a recall that effects this or is it our problem to drop 1500 dollars to repair a manufacturer defect”
