Example complaints

Other or unknown: “The dashboard has substantial cracking. The vehicle has been garage kept and has not had any chemicals used to clean the dashboard since it was purchased new. I'm worried about the effectiveness of the airbags if they were to come into contact with the sharp plastic edges of the cracks when they deploy. I'm also concerned about broken plastic pieces becoming airborne in the cab in the event of an accident, as I usually have my 3 young children in the back seat.”

NHTSA complaint #10820825, filed 2016-01, 100,000 miles

Air bags: “Takata recall. The contact owns a 2009 Gmc Sierra Denali. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Kendall auto mall (15700 idaho center blvd, nampa, id) was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall remedy. The manufacturer was not notified and was not able to confirm when the parts were to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. …”
